Traveling through central Afghanistan I came across this donkey foal standing just behind its mother in the burning heat of the midday sun. Donkeys are very friendly, strong and hardworking animals who too often are misused and mistreated. Painting in a more or less realistic style the background though is painted evenly using colours that remind me of that baren mountaineeous area around Band-i-Amir. Band-i-Amir is famous for its clear and intens blue lakes but that certainly deserves a separate attempt to paint.
